Creative activities

This site is concerned mainly with my web design/ web development. I have also been busy during 2004-2008 in the creative area. Some of the areas I have tried to gain skills are as follows.

Digital Animation
I have worked on two college animation projects
The first involved the design of a creature based on one of my interests - the movement of animals.
The second was on a storyboard which I created involving two characters (Goona and Geeza). Considerable effort was put into creating 3-D models in Maya; because of time constraints, these were abandoned in favor of stick models. Most of the animation was done in Maya. A bird flying in the background was done in Flash. Here is a sequence of stills of Geeza jumping and somersaulting. geeza jump
Digital Design
I have also spent considerble time and effort in developing skills in photoshop, illustrator and Flash, amongst other tools.
I was a victim of the 'Brontok' worm which destroyed my files. Some work which was not destroyed is shown here. River panorama River panorama River panorama River panorama

hobbies

I have had numerous hobbies over the years including music, theatre, walking, animal history, architecture, electronics, mechanics of motion, cycling, gardening....list goes on a little! Multi-disciplinary applies to both my work and leisure activities!

Most fo my life I have either walked or cycled! This is probably largely because I come from a background where it is very difficult to have liquid assets at most times! During the 90's I used to persue my cycling hobby quite seriously; I frequented cycles shops/sales/meets and built several racers/mountain bikes. I also researched on the materials for frames, frame design, wheel design/construction, brakes etc ...in fact anything and everything for bicycle design for transport, comfort, strength, race, durability and aesthetics! This was not too difficult for me as I was a professional research engineer.
