Web Design
Web design utilises a combination of skills. Coding in HTML or XHTML and CSS are necessary. It also helps to be able to mentally visualise the various layouts a web page can take; graphic design and (perhaps) animation are other areas usually necessary or desirable for web design. In addition, it is important to appreciate web issues such as SEO, search engine 'workings', optimisation of graphics, formats of images, etc.
I have been involved in web design of several sites recently. My past experiences and training in software and digital arts have helped me besides my training in web design. I have coded in PHP, Javascript and actionscript. I worked on several revisions of the contact form in PHP in James Champion site. This also appears in the current portfolio site. I am always trying to keep my skills upto date; I also tend to keep learning new technologies.
